Quick FX Production Techniques – Volume 1

Based on work I created for Transformers 3, this is an effect I developed a while back which I really liked and I just know I’m going to end up using in some variation for other feature work down the line. Using out of the box tools from 3DS Max 2014 – we go through how to create not only a character being ripped apart procedurally but we take this concept and push it further utilizing a lot of really cool, useful and very powerful fundamental features of Max! You can use this to tear paint off a char, or skin off a character or a dozen other approaches depending on what you want to do, definitely a very unique effect that’s concept can be taken and applied to almost anything!
